Temp Agency Helps Find Full Time Employment

Kissoon’s first experiences arriving in Canada in 2003 was a roller coaster of emotions.  Like many new Canadians, he was delighted to be living close to his family, but this exultation was soon dimmed with the prospects of securing viable meaningful employment.  Being over the age of 50 with no Canadian experience, the traditional job search efforts failed to garner any solid prospects.  After speaking with friends who faced similar situations, he was recommended to the local recruiting specialty firm Advantage Personnel. Together they were able to build a resume that was truly reflective of the 30+ years of experience Kissoon had while providing invaluable information on bridging the cultural differences in securing employment including interviewing, skill assessments and networking processes.  Using his past experience as a Plant Maintenance Foreman Advantage identified and placed Kissoon at key assignments that helped increase the confidence of his abilities in the Canadian marketplace.  Using these skills combined with his strong work ethics, he was quickly offered the full time opportunity that he was seeking.  It was again that he turned to his recruiter at Advantage Personnel to help advise on the acceptability and competitiveness of the offer.  He was pleased to accept this offer and continues to work nearly 7 years later at the same company.

Kissoon often contacts his recruiter to say hello and stop by for coffee.  “I did not know how much I should be paid for a full time job or what benefits I could have or anything, I am glad they were there to help me.  I love doing the work I do and I will always appreciate what the agency did for me.  Without them I would not have found such a great full time job.”
