The Mississauga-headquartered Toronto and South Western Ontario Chapter of the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services (ACSESS) has set a five-year goal of raising $25,000 to "adopt-a-room" at Toronto's Ronald McDonald House.

Ronald McDonald House is a not-for-profit "home-away-from-home" for families of seriously ill children receiving hospital treatment and the donation is the cost of maintaining one of its 28 rooms for a five year period.

"We're proud to partner with the Toronto's Ronald McDonald House and support their goal of enhancing the quality of life for out-of town families with seriously ill children through their caring and supportive facility," said Marcy Cowan, ACSESS chapter president. "We strive to make ourselves a valuable part of our local communities and are delighted to have this opportunity to help Toronto Ronald McDonald House's mission."

The chapter kicked off its commitment with a Christmas gala dinner and successful silent auction fundraiser on Nov. 28. The event was supported by representatives from staffing and placement agencies from Mississauga, including Corporate Link, Spherion and The Employment Solution (TES).

The Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services (ACSESS) is the single voice for promoting best industry practices for the recruitment, employment and staffing services industry in Canada.

ACSESS supports advancement of the staffing industry through professional training and certification programs, leading to a Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC) designation.
