Ontario Employment Standards Compliance Initiative 2012

The Ministry of Labour Employment Standards Program is responsible for administering the Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA). The ESA sets out the rights and responsibilities of most employees and employers in Ontario. It covers a number of employment standards, including Bill 139 which establishes specific rules for Temporary Help Agencies. ACSESS continues to support the overall objective of the Ontario ESA which is to ensure that all employees in Ontario have their rights under the Act respected. The Ministry looks forward to engaging in a dialogue with ACSESS as to how minimum employment standards can be best supported through education and outreach to employers to ensure that all employers comply with the ESA.
