Terry Power, Managing Director, Randstad Canada and President of Sapphire Technologies Canada

Terry Power will share trends on the IT/contract side of our industry as well as
addressing flexible staffing and the prognosis for post recession contingency staffing
in Canada. Terry Power currently serves on the ACSESS National Board and is the
incoming President of the National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses
(NACCB). He is also active in the Information Technology Association of Canada
and was a founding member of the Canadian Coalition for Tomorrow's ICT Skills.

Bruce McAlpine, CPC, President, Fulcrum Search Science Inc.

Bruce McAlpine will comment on the impact of the recent recession on direct hire /
professional search and what we might expect to see as Canadian businesses
restructure and rebuild their professional and management talent. A past president
of both ACSESS and APPAC, and current chair of the ACSESS Ethics Committee,
Bruce has been active in executive search since 1988. He is a national trainer for the
CPC program, and a frequent speaker at industry conferences. Bruce is a respected
leader in the recruitment industry and is a recipient of the ACSESS Award
of Excellence.

Samuel R. Sacco, Partner, R.A. Cohen Consulting.

Sam has been involved with the staffing industry for over 27 years. He joined the National Association of Temporary and Staffing Services (NATSS), now the American Staffing Association (ASA), in 1982 as their Director of Public Relations. In January 1984 he was made the Executive Vice President of NATSS, a position he held until October 1997. Sam has authored over 100 articles on the industry, spoken before hundreds of staffing groups, and represented the industry on numerous TV and radio programs.

Sam understands what it takes for staffing firms of all sizes and structures to succeed. His session will include an update on the impact of the recession on M&A and what the current and future activity could mean to an owner of a staffing company of any segment. Sam will share components of a selling transaction from both the buyer and seller perspective. He will identify the characteristics of a company that build value for sale, or that are needed to develop a sound succession plan.

O'DeaFrank O'Dea's rags to riches story of triumph over adversity is one that is amazing and truly inspiring. From living on the street, and against all odds, O'Dea became one of Canada's most successful and celebrated entrepreneurs, founding numerous businesses, including The Second Cup. The Government of Canada sought him out to found the Canadian Landmine Foundation and with help from the United Nations, Sir Paul McCartney and Colin Powell, he launched the worldwide charity, Night of a Thousand Dinners. A recipient of two university degrees and the Order of Canada, Frank O'Dea's inspiring story is retold in his book “When All You Have is Hope”.
