ACSESS - Re: Fees to Candidates

Dear Members:
ACSESS has recently received a copy of a letter from Service Alberta, Consumer Services Division, entitled "Employment Agency Fee Prohibition". The Ministry - which is responsible for Employment Agency Business Licencing - indicates it has come to their attention that some agencies may be charging fees to individuals who are seeking employment.

As you are aware, ACSESS does not condone this practice and requires all members to abide by our Code of Ethics.

It is also possible fees are being charged by companies that are not a member of ACSESS or even in the staffing industry. If you are aware of any situation where candidates are charged fees then it is important you notify ACSESS so we that we can work collaboratively with Government to abolish this practice.

Thank you for your support,

With kind regards,

Amanda Curtis, CAE
